The basics of financial mathematics regarding amortisation calculation are explained. Then the procedure usual in the market and the calculation method in SimCorp Dimension will be introduced. In the second half of the course knowledge will be imparted so that the participants can set up their own calculations. A pre-requisite for this is that each participant brings along data of the own institute to set up his own amortisation calculation. Hereby a maximum identification of results can be reached.

Afterwards cost and settlement defaults will be explained and exercises will be offered to this topic optionally. System-generated transactions as coupons, redemptions, equity splits and rights will be made and handled. The topics of the second part of the course are financial accounting principles and financial accounting methods. Holdings will be changed by reallocations. In addition, an example of a EOP transaction will be shown and an interest adjustment will be generated. Finally, the portfolio calculation will be introduced briefly.

The Communication Server - Basic is the introduction course to the SimCorp Dimension integration tool 'Communication Server'. The course will cover the core concept of the Communication Server and the participants will try to work with and setup Communication Servers. The course includes numerous hands-on exercises in the Communication Server. The configuration of the Communication Server is in XML; hence, some technical knowledge is an advantage. The SimCorp Dimension SWIFT Communication Server solution will be used as template for several exercises in the course. The objective of the course is to equip participants with a basic knowledge of the Communication Server and make the participants able to customize Communication Server template solutions to customer requirements.

By means of different examples the possibilities of using compliance limits in SimCorp Dimension will be shown and the functionalities will be explained step by step with the help of specific questions. The participants learn how relative limits can be realised for the share of positions in a holding. With the help of further questions the use of groupings, conditional groupings and limit formulas will be worked out. For covering legal limits for capital investment companies according to InvG§51, a special limit is available in SimCorp Dimension to limit the ratio of market risk and market value. This special compliance limit will be introduced on demand.

The purpose of this course is to teach the participants how to use the SimCorp Dimension embedded Data Extraction functionality to create basic Data Extractions. The focus will be on providing the participants with hands-on experience with the Extraction Definition, Extraction Setup, Extracts Exporter, Extracts Viewer and Extraction Validator forms. During the course basic functionality such as the Data Dictionary Browser, Formulas, Aggregated Functions, Grouping and Plug-ins will be covered. The participants will, furthermore, be taken through more advanced functionality covering In-line Views, Sub-Queries and Dex-in-Dex.

Besides an introduction in the database structure and an overview of the available auxiliary means for developers of data extractions, the data extractor with its components is introduced. Especially important is the set-up of extraction definitions, which are used for reading and preparation of data from the SimCorp Dimension database. By means of exercises the complete process is learned, starting with the creation of an extraction definition followed by its execution and the subsequent view and maintenance of these data extractions. Also the export of data in a file will be part of an exercise.
