I studied Computer Science in the university which is quite unusual for Business Consultants in Implementation Services. It helps me to understand how the system works, but I’m not working as a programmer.

I began working in SimCorp almost directly after finishing my university studies, so I experienced a change from student life to working life, which perhaps was a bit difficult, but SimCorp has a very structured introduction period including SimCorp Academy, an introduction course, a local assignment and a personal tutor. These things made it easier to get started working at SimCorp.

How do you see the career opportunities?

I was looking for something interesting, and I wanted to have a job with a varied work day. This is the summary of my job. There are a lot of challenges, and I can’t imagine it getting boring any time soon. For instance you could do job rotations into other departments, you could take on an international assignment or become a project manager or domain specialist. There are so many opportunities here.

The best thing about working at SimCorp is the very special work atmosphere. People get along with each other with respect, and are willing to help when necessary. I also like our attitude towards the clients. We do whatever is possible to solve the clients’ issues and to help them implement the system because we’re very determined.

In Germany, SimCorp is actually listed  among the best workplaces and came in fourth  among several hundred participating companies for the “Great place to work” award.

What is SimCorp’s position in the market?

SimCorp is an etablished company, and when you look at the German and Austrian market of Asset Management, SimCorp has a huge share of the market with many big clients using SimCorp Dimension. This offers a certain amount of security.

When talking with clients they say that it’s the determination of the people at SimCorp that makes the difference, and our development strategy: Unlike other companies we offer our clients software updates every six months, making sure their solution is always modern and up-to-date.
